About LifeTeen

LifeTeen is a Catholic youth ministry* that leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. It is also an essential part of the preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation in Gr 11**. Confirmation candidates should ideally join LifeTeen in Gr 8 and continue til the end of Gr 12 after being formally received into the Church.

By answering the needs of this age group in a catechetical, fun, and relevant way, LifeTeen aims to provide a strong faith foundation that will see them through the challenges of high school and into young adulthood. Within this solid Catholic community they will get answers to questions of faith, and most importantly, experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. A testament to the success of the programme is the number of LifeTeen participants who return as leaders once they have graduated.

LifeTeen leaders (LifeTeen Core) have access to excellent resources (such as lesson plans, term plans and a support team of veteran youth ministers), freeing them up to focus meaningfully on our teens and their families. Where possible, the programme includes a LifeTeen weekend retreat, an element of social outreach and family outings such as hikes.

*LifeTeen is an annual subscription-based American programme which is made possible through the proceeds of Planned Giving.

**Confirmation candidates receive six months of additional preparation in Gr 11, usually in a weeknight class held at the church.
