Salvio was born in 1877 in Catalonia, Spain, and ordained priest on 19 September 1903. Four years later he entered the Oratory of Vic; in 1927 he was named Bishop of Ibiza. In 1936 he was arrested with others by the anti-Catholic Republican forces. He asked to be the last to be killed so as to give absolution and comfort to his companions in martyrdom, exhibiting in death that apostolic spirit that had marked his entire life. Blessed Salvio was beatified on 13th of October 2013.
Blessed Salvio will be honoured at Benediction on Saturday evening.
