Feast of Bl. Sebastian Valfré – 30 January 2026

Sebastian Valfré was born in 1629 in Alba in Piedmont, now north-west Italy, and joined the Oratory in Turin on St Philip’s Day (26 May) 1651. As a priest, he was especially known for teaching Catechism, hearing confessions, giving spiritual direction, and helping the poor and sick.  Among his virtues Sebastian was especially notable for his obedience to the Congregation, customs and traditions of the Oratory. He was also greatly devoted to the Shroud of Turin, in the repair of which he himself was personally involved. He died in 1710 and was beatified in 1834.

In honour of Bl. Sebastian Valfré we gather in the evening on Friday 30th:

5.30pm Fervorino (short homily on the Saint)

5.50pm Exposition & Benediction (concludes 6.10pm)

Do join us for a joyful commemoration of our Oratorian blessed!
